Unarmed robbery occurs near Hatcher Graduate Library


A student was punched and kicked by two unarmed suspects during an attempted robbery early Saturday morning, University Police reported.

The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on the south side of the Hatcher Graduate Library.

While walking under the building’s south overhang The student was approached by two men. The student was knocked down when one of the men reportedly punched him in the head. He was kicked two times.

One of the subjects started searching the student’s pockets, but when other people in the area approached the scene, he fled west in the direction of State Street.

The victim did not seek medical attention and no property was taken.

According to witnesses, the first suspect was described as a Black male between 35 and 40 years old, 6’ and 6’3’’ tall and with a goatee. He was described as wearing a black hoodie and blue neck warmer. No description is available for the second male suspect.
