Ann Arbor Police are investigating a potential case of arson after a fire caused extensive damage to a residential garage on Mary Street early Saturday morning, according to a University Police crime alert.
Police say the fire was started in a trash container on the 900 block of the street and spread to the detached garage of a residence. The incident took place at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Two individuals were seen running from the scene. The crime alert describes themas 5’11” to 6’0”, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans. No further description is given.
University Police sent out a crime alert just before 10 a.m. Saturday regarding the incident. Officials at the Ann Arbor Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment Saturday morning.
