Chance the Rapper will be performing at Hill Auditorium on March 22. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at the Michigan Union Ticket Office and the show is open to all ages. Supporting acts are to be decided but are expected to be announced next week.
The 20-year-old Chicago native — whose real name is Chancellor Bennett — has become popular over the past year. His first album “Ten Day" was written following a 10-day suspension from his high school. His second album, “Acid Rap” was named Spin magazine’s number two hip hop album of 2013, and Chance was named the 2013 rapper of the year.
He has since worked with several big-name artists, including Childish Gambino, Twista and Action Bronson on “Acid Rap.” He has also featured with Lil Wayne in “You Song,” which Chance wrote for the “Dedication 5”. He has also featured with Justin Bieber, James Blake and Hoodie Allen.
Chance performed at Chicago’s summer music festival Lollapalooza in 2013, just wrapped up his national “Social Experiment Tour” and appeared on “The Arsenio Hall Show.” According to his website, he will be performing at the University of Florida the week after his performance here.
