A 42-year-old Ypsilanti man suffered injuries from a gunshot wound to his lower left leg during a marijuana drug deal in a parking structure on the 400 block of Thompson Street at about 10:51 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Lieutenant Myron Blackwell of the Ann Arbor Police Department.
The two suspects — 23-year-old Ann Arbor resident Glenn Bradley and 21-year-old Ann Arbor resident Christopher Blalock — are also being accused of trying to rob the victim, Blackwell said.
The suspected shooter, Bradley, has six charges against him, including assault with intent to murder, intent to commit great bodily harm, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a felony firearm, according to Blackwell
Blalock has been charged with assault with the intent to rob while armed and conspiracy, Blackwell said.
Bradley and Blalock were arraigned this morning at Washtenaw County Jail and will have their preliminary examinations in two weeks, he added.
The AAPD received multiple phone calls from witnesses who heard gunshots, and officers rushed to the scene where they located the victim and immediately took him to the University Hospital, where he underwent surgery Wednesday night for the significant gunshot wound, according to Blackwell.
Diane Brown, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman, said she was told no University students were involved in the incident.
