Student struck by SUV near Pierpont Commons

A student was hit by a vehicle near a North Campus bus stop on Murfin Avenue just north of Bonisteel Boulevard at around 3:15 Tuesday afternoon.
University Police spokeswoman Diane Brown said the student was struck when he ran in front of a small sports utility vehicle. He was taken to the University Hospital emergency room for evaluation of minor injuries.
Brown said UMPD will not investigate the incident as a criminal matter as “the driver was not at fault and the young man was not critically injured.”
