Freshman defensive lineman Ondre Pipkins sustained a neck injury in practice Friday morning and was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.
"Ondre injured his neck during practice this morning," said Michigan football coach Brady Hoke in a statement released Friday morning. "He had movement in all extremities and was taken to University of Michigan Health System for precautionary reasons and evaluation."
Pipkins was taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to Huron Valley Ambulance spokeswoman Joyce Williams.
The incoming freshman from Kansas City, Mo. is expected to fight for a spot in the starting lineup after the team graduated two tackles last season.
