In Other Ivory Towers: Harvard's Hasty Puddings Theatricals names Jason Segel Man of the Year

Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest theater company, named Jason Segel the Man of the Year at its annual Man of the Year event on Friday, according to a Feb. 4 article in The Harvard Crimson.
As part of the festivities, the theater company held a roast for Segel, The Crimson reported. The Man of the Year celebration marks the opening performance of The Pudding’s annual show, which runs through March.
Yale sees jump in applications in comparison to other Ivy League schools
Yale University witnessed a 5.8-percent rise in applications for the class of 2016, receiving 28,622 applications compared to last year's 27,283. This year, Yale reported the greatest increase in applications in the Ivy League according to a Jan 31. Yale Daily News article .
Cornell University and Dartmouth College also saw increases, but Harvard University, Princeton University, Brown University, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania all experienced drops, the Daily News reported. Columbia experienced the biggest drop with a decrease of 8.9 percent.
This is the first year since Yale, Harvard and Princeton reinstated their early admission program after it stopped being offered four years ago, though officials say it’s too early to determine if it played a significant role in the increase of applicants.
