An Ypsilanti man has been convicted of enslaving four West African boy, the Detroit Free Press reported. Jean-Claude (Kodjo) Toviave pretended the children were his own after sneaking them into the country with fabricated documents. The children testified that Toviave beat them when they didn't do the chores, and often deprived them of sleep and food as punishment for wrongdoing.Toviave faces up to 20 years in prison.
