On Thursday, trustees at the University of Alabama announced that it was naming Judy Bonner its new president, making her the first woman in the institution’s 181-year history to be president. Bonner has served as interim president for the past five months, and is now officially taking the place of Guy Bailey, who is stepping down to care for his sick wife.

The SAT scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 3 was cancelled in New York City, due to the ongoing nature of recovery efforts in the city. The test has been rescheduled for Nov. 17 for those who have been affected by the change. The test could be rescheduled in other locations, should the College Board decide to do so.
