Iowa Professor Gets Blasted After a Hit on Heartland
Visiting professor of journalism Stephen Bloom continues to be hit hard with criticism from native Iowans and even his own friends and colleagues about a story that he wrote on living in Iowa for The Atlantic last December. Bloom’s story depicted Iowa in a particularly bad light and said that the Iowa caucuses should be less important because the state is not a good representation of America. One of his former colleagues at the University of Iowa was so incensed by his story that he wishes he could remove Bloom’s name from a book they wrote together, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.
