Michigan to wear special uniforms for Sugar Bowl

It's on to a new ensemble for the Michigan football team.
The program announced on Tuesday that the Wolverines will be wearing a new version of their "legacy" uniforms in the Sugar Bowl against Virginia Tech on Jan. 3 in New Orleans.
“We met with our seniors and showed them some concepts that were proposed by adidas and the mock-up is what they chose,” said Michigan coach Brady Hoke. “This is a something the players enjoy and we thought it would be a nice way to commemorate our appearance in the Sugar Bowl.”
The uniform appears to be the third piece of the "legacy' set. The first two versions were unveiled in the Notre Dame and Michigan State games earlier in the season.
It features the typical maize pants and blue helmet with maize wings, but with two blue shoulder stripes added and a block 'M' on the right chest, the Allstate Sugar Bowl logo on the left chest and a blue neck line. A replica of the Sugar Bowl uniform is selling for $60 from the M Den.
The design is similar to the Michigan State edition from early October, but has no maize in the shoulder stripes.
According to the statement, “Michigan players decided to wear the grey face mask on the famed winged helmet, a look that was worn in the late 1960s and was brought back for the Under the Lights game with Notre Dame on Sept. 10, 2011.”
