A man was assaulted off-campus early this morning by a male suspect brandishing a pocketknife, according to a University Department of Public Safety crime alert.
The assault victim was approaching his car in the parking lot south of the PNC Bank located at East University and South University, when the suspect jumped out from the back seat. The suspect held the pocketknife to the victim's chest before fleeing the scene, according to the crime alert, which cites the Ann Arbor Police Department as the responding agency.
The suspect was described to police as a black male, between 5'5" and 5'6" wearing all dark clothing and an "unknown hat."
