'M' unable to maintain lead over Kentucky, exits postseason in upset
BY EMILY BONCHI
POST-GAME UPDATE: Despite senior pitcher Jordan Taylor's eleven strikeouts, Michigan was unable to maintain the shutout through the seventh inning in the deciding win for Kentucky in the Ann Arbor Regional.
The Wolverines struggled to earn hits, finally tallying a run off an error in the fourth inning. Michigan entered the bottom of the seventh with the single run and hopes of forcing the if necessary game. Instead, they walked off in tears after Meagan Aull marked a solo home run to right field and senior Annie Rowlands popped a blooper over senior first baseman Dorian Shaw's head to clear the way for the winning run.
