LIVE BLOG: Michigan takes on Illinois in Big Ten Tournament

The Michigan women's basketball team will make its debut in the Big Ten Tournament today against Illinois, after receiving a bye for the first round.
The Wolverines just played the Fighting Illini on Sunday, beating them for the second time this season in a close 58-55 contest. Michigan was led by sophomore forward Rachel Sheffer with 23 points, marking her third 20-point game of the season.
Illinois has been at the bottom of the of the Big Ten standings for the majority of the season with just a 7-22 record, 2-14 in the conference. But the Fighting Illini claimed their first victory since January yesterday, after a 12 game losing streak, in a 63-56 upset over Wisconsin. Illinois is led by sophomore Karisma Penn, averaging 18 points per game and 10.2 rebounds.
