BY MATT SPELICH
After leading the No. 6 Michigan women's gymnastics team to the NCAA Super Six, Senior Kylee Botterman became the first Wolverine since 2001 to win the NCAA All-Around Title. Botterman is Michigan's second national All-Around title winner in the history of the program.
Botterman's top events in Friday's meet were the vault and floor. She scored a 9.925 in each event respectively, earning a 39.525 All Around. While Botterman took top honors, she was joined on the podium by red-shirt senior Sarah Curtis who took 8th place All Around.
Michigan earned runner-up in the NCAA semifinals on Friday — finishing just behind Oklahoma, 196.775-196.700. UCLA — the national defending champions — took third in the bracket and will join the Wolverines and the Sooners in the NCAA Super Six, where they will face Alabama, Nebraska and Utah for the team NCAA title on Saturday in Cleveland.
