The OR at running back is no more.
After Friday's walkthrough, when talking to MGoBlue.com's "All Access Pass" Michigan coach Brady Hoke said redshirt sophomore Fitzgerald Toussaint would start at running back Saturday against Western Michigan.
Running back has been one of the mostly hotly contested at camp. On Monday, the depth chart revealed the battle was down to two: Toussaint and senior Mike Shaw. Despite both Hoke and offensive coordinator Al Borges saying throughout the week that Shaw would be the start if the Wolverines played tomorrow, Toussaint got the final call.
Toussaint appeared at running back in four games last year, carrying the ball eight times for 87 yards.
Hoke also said that redshirt junior J.T. Floyd would start at cornerback opposite of fifth-year senior Troy Woolfolk. Floyd had been in a position battle with sophomore Courtney Avery for that final cornerback slot.
