The Michigan hockey team controls its own destiny to host a first-round CCHA playoff series next weekend.
With a win, which would clinch home-ice advantage, the Wolverines could finish as high as seventh in the conference. To do so, they would need another Bowling Green loss against Notre Dame. If the Falcons and Wolverines both win, Michigan would finish eighth.
If Michigan loses in the series finale against Ferris State on Saturday night, it would not host a playoff series UNLESS Northern Michigan and Lake Superior State go to a shootout in their series finale.
If the season ended today, Michigan would host Lake Superior State next weekend.
