Feisty mannequins and MUTEMATH populate this week's album releases

BY EMMA GASE

Feist — Metals — Cherrytree/Interscope

Ever the cutest, ever the quaintest, Leslie Feist follows up her mainstream-launching The Reminder with Metals, a decidedly less pop-orientated and accessible record, but nevertheless still stuffed to the brim with the charming, acoustic ditties that only Feist can get away with.

Jack’s Mannequin — People and Things — Sire

And so returns the pop-rock group from the O.C. that originally hit it big back in 2005 with “The Mixedtape,” (you know, the one that your semi-emo, One-Tree-Hill-watching teenage self used to love? Yeah, don’t deny it). Tune in for some easy-to-like guitar-centric pop songs.

MUTEMATH — Odd Soul — Teleprompt/Warner Bros.

After playing an (unsurprisingly) kickass show at the Blind Pig last week, the New Orleans-based group release their third studio LP, Odd Soul, which promises to keep those joneseing for more of their energetic electro-rock satiated.
