At long last, a year of desperately seeking something to even partially fill the gaping void left by HBO’s killer “Game of Thrones” draws to a close. Despite the trailer’s questionable choice in music — MS MR’s “Bones,” a downtempo track with an electronic bent and whiny female vocals, as opposed to the expected high-octane symphonic track — the newest teaser ominously hints at an oncoming war and continued shit-starting by the young prince everyone loves to hate.

Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) rocks a new scar from his recent face-cleaving incident while Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) begins to amass an army on her side of the sea. Dragons and swords engulfed in flame make cameos, hinting that two of the series’s most enigmatic glorified fire-starters — Daenerys’s pets and Melisandre’s (Carice van Houten) Red God — will get their turn at causing death and destruction the world over.

While painfully short, the teaser whets appetites for another season of sex, intrigue and betrayal, coyly promising viewers a spectacular serial to look forward to on Sunday nights. Prepare yourself, “Game of Thrones” enters its third season March 31 on HBO.
