Experts share tips on how to vlog

1. Outline what you’re going to talk about — this can be really detailed. The more time you spend outlining, the more interesting and coherent it will be on camera.

2. Carry your camera with you everywhere. You never know what you will see, and if you find something hilarious or stupid, it may be perfect vlog material.

3. Find a setting. Where will you record it? It’s up to you, but if you film outside, make sure it’s not too windy for your mic.

4. Timing. If you like natural lighting, plan accordingly. It’s hard to find that late afternoon glow at 1 a.m.

5. Find a style that suits you. If you’re just mimicking other vloggers, chances are you will feel uncomfortable and awkward, so do what you feel works best.
