After two come-from-behind wins in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, the Michigan volleyball team had no such magic tonight in its regional semi-final match against No. 4 –seed Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers defeated the 19th-ranked Wolverines in three straight sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) to advance to the Elite 8.
From the opening serve to the final Nebraska kill, Michigan was clearly overmatched. The Cornhuskers beat the Wolverines (26-8 overall) in every facet of the game.
Nebraska’s physical defense shut down the usual potent Michigan offense, registering 11 blocks on the night. The Cornhuskers held the Wolverines to a dismal 0.1 attack percentage.
Michigan had no way to combat Nebraska's defensive alignment. The size of the Cornhuskers’ two middle blockers forced the Wolverines into 20 attack errors on the night while Nebraska's (30-2) high-powered offense registered only seven.
Despite the Wolverines’ offensive woes, freshman right side hitter Alex Hunt might have been the lone bright spot in the match.
The Granger, Ind., native posted a team-high nine kills while sophomore setter Lexi Zimmerman distributed 24 assists in the losing effort.
