This is a developing story, continue checking michigandaily.com for updates.

At its meeting tonight, the Ann Arbor City Council voted unanimously to pass an ordinance banning upholstered furniture on porches. Those found in violation of the ban, could be fined up to $1,000, depending on their compliance.

The vote comes after the Council decided to postpone voting on the ban at its Sept. 8 meeting to give University a chance to voice their concerns with the ordinance.
