The Wolverines broke the 900-mark for the first time all season with a two-day total of 898.
Junior Ashley Bauer led Michigan in Tucson, Ariz., tying for fifth place with a 54-hole total of 215. She opened the weekend with a two-under 70 in the first round.
Bauer’s three-round total was the best score for a Wolverine all season. The Grand Blanc native’s tie for fifth was her second straight match finishing in the top five.
But Bauer was not the only Michigan golfer to shoot low scores. Sophomore Min Yean Tin tied for 38th, as she notched a two-day total of 227. Freshman Milena Savich finished 44th in the 99-player field.
The Wolverines will hope to improve next weekend, as they compete in the 2009 Indiana Invitational in Columbus, Ind.
