I find a lot at fault with the article regarding long distance relationships over Spring Break (Bringing your break to a climax, 02/02/2009). The article clearly utilizes vulgarity for cheap laughs. I thought the Daily was a reputable paper that could tackle serious issues such as sex and relationships with some integrity. But masturbation on an airplane? Lube in three-ounce bottles? That is clearly slapstick humor with no intention for real journalism. The line in which “come” is changed to “cum” seems like something an eighth-grade girl would do when she first found out about the word. Good job, Michigan Daily, for making me lose a lot of respect for the quality of your reporting and your paper.
