Senior Denise Muresan had a spotless weekend at the No. 1 singles spot for the No. 8 Michigan women’s tennis team.

The Wolverines hosted the Michigan Invitational, welcoming No. 13 Tennessee, No. 16 Georgia Tech and No. 23 Washington.
The event did not have team scoring, but several players stood out for Michigan, including the 11th-ranked Muresan. The Lincolnshire, Ill. native won all three of her matches, including a victory over Washington's Denise Dy, the sixth-ranked player in the country.
Muresan also defeated No. 39 Jillian O’Neill (Georgia Tech) and Tennessee’s Natalie Pluskota.
Freshman Sam Critser went 3-0 during the event from her singles spot. The No. 105 Critser upset Volunteer and No. 20 Brynn Boren on Monday, the last day of competition.
